Anaheim Resort Transportation Transforms its Style

Anaheim CA. (May 12, 2016)

Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART), which serves the visitors, conference attendees and residents in Anaheim and portions of Orange County, recently unveiled a new and original design for its bus fleet. The innovative bus wrap features a whimsical graphic concept that underscores ART's theme, ‘The ART of Connecting the Dots.' The first vehicles to incorporate the new design will be four state-of-the-art electric buses. These new 40-passenger buses are zero emission vehicles and will provide passengers with the latest in technology and comfort.

ART partnered with the talented design duo, Kevin Kidney and Jody Daily of the Anaheim-based creative studio "Kevin and Jody Show" to draw upon their years of experience designing for Disney, as well as tie-in their community roots in Anaheim for this significant transformation project. For Disney Parks worldwide, their designs include "Mickey's Soundsational Parade" and the "Pixar Play Parade" currently featured at the Disneyland® Resort, as well as parades for the Disney parks in Tokyo and Paris.

" We believe this unique design created specifically for ART will enhance ART's identity, make it easier for guests to recognize the ART buses, and boost the Resort's appeal as a premier Southern California destination." said Diana Kotler, Executive Director of Anaheim Resort Transportation." ART supports the thriving local tourism and convention industry, as well as employment centers, so creating transportation experiences infused with a little fun goes a long the way. ‘The Art of Connecting the Dots,' seemed like a natural fit."

The design concept uses vibrant colors and experience-based graphic icons to depict many of the destinations ART guests can choose to visit, such as the Disneyland® Resort, Knott's Berry Farm, Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC), Anaheim Packing House, Angel Stadium, Honda Center, and the thriving business community located the region.

Adding to this lively storytelling design are a graphic cast of "characters" that guests might see on their journey through the Anaheim and Orange County area. The characters, drawn ‘sitting on the bus' are seen through the ART bus windows. The characters include: a baseball player, chef, train conductor, cowboy, a family on vacation, princess, and others.

ART transports nine million people annually through its scheduled transit service, which has been in operation for nearly 15 years. ART offers 21 convenient routes throughout the area connecting people to entertainment, dining and shopping opportunities and job centers. Additionally, ART is a transportation resource for locals and Anaheim Convention Center meeting attendees. ART services guests at 72 Orange County hotels and is an environmentally-friendly alternative to driving. The fleet of 82 buses includes electric and natural gas vehicles, which have significantly, reduced congestion in the Resort area for both local residents and visitors.

Designer Kevin Kidney said, "For visitors and residents alike, Anaheim has long been a place to have fun, unwind and be entertained-and ART makes it very easy to go everywhere and enjoy it all. Our goal was to create a colorful and eye-catching identity for the ART fleet and ticketing booths that taps into the happiness of Southern California."
