The City of Garden Grove

Begin your day in a city that is bursting with culture, diversity, and vibrant architecture and communities, Garden Grove. Be sure to drive by the infamous Crystal Cathedral (recently renamed as Christ Cathedral), the architecture is simply stunning. Be sure to check the concert schedule at Village Green, if you fall in love with the city vibe you may want to circle back for a concert.

Late Morning to Noon
Head east on Garden Grove Freeway to CA-57, and head North to Cal State at Fullerton’s Fullerton Arboretum. The gardens are open daily from 8:30am - 4pm, and visitors can walk the gardens with a map, or take advantage of the free public tours on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. Guided Nature Tours are available with advanced scheduling.

Lunch/Early Afternoon
It’s time to add a touch of luxury to your day, and the OC InRoom Magazine can help you tap into the best luxuries in Orange County. They recommend several high-end seafood dining destinations on their website, as well as the newly opened Pacific City destination. Pacific City is located at 21010 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach, and offers upscale shopping and a variety of restaurants.

Late Afternoon / Evening
After your luxury lunch excursion, it’s time to add a touch of history to your Fun in the Sun tour in The OC. The County of Orange offers a full list of historic sites that demonstrate the rich heritage of Orange County. The Irvine Ranch Historic Park offers over 16 acres of land to explore, complete with 24 original ranch structures that allow visitors to get in touch with Irvine’s rich agricultural roots.

Since you’re already in Irvine, it’s time to check out one of the places that California is known for: Shopping! Irvine Company Retail Properties specializes in neighborhood retail centers, capturing the vibe of outdoor spaces, polished landscapes and amenities. Go for the energized shopping experience at Irvine Spectrum Center. The center has more than 130 retail stores, restaurants and entertainment venues, including a 108-foot Giant Ferris Wheel!

After Dinner
Take a stroll through “America’s Safest Big City”, as Irvine offers something for everyone. As a master-planned community, Irvine offers many transportation options for visitors and residents alike.
