Avanti Cafe features flavorfully dynamic food — handcrafted and lovingly prepared from fresh, local and mostly organic produce and food products. It is a vegetarian restaurant in Costa Mesa, but also calls itself "vegan friendly." With a great variety of drinks, including: wine, beer/ale, teas and coffee, Avanti is transforming the idea of a traditional vegetarian restaurant. Avanti serves a diverse selection of craft, German and Belgian beers. Owners Mark Cleveland and Tanya Fuqua make their own cakes and pastries, including their selection of cookies, plus a wide variety of imaginative appetizers and entrees. Local favorites include flatbread or their unique grilled cheese sandwich, with white Cheddar and Havarti cheese and a blood orange sauce.
