The Newport Beach Public Library has a long history of being an integral part of the Newport Beach community. The Central Library and its three branches, Mariners, Corona del Mar and Balboa, offer a diverse range of informational resources, public services and programs for every age group. The Newport Beach Public Library, ranked as one of California’s best, annually hosts over 1.2 million visitors to enjoy books, DVDs, audio books and other materials, as well as the library’s computer services, music and art events, literary lectures, and children’s programs. A 17,000-square-foot expansion of the Newport Beach Central Library is currently underway. The expansion of the library will include more space in the Children’s Room, additional study areas, reading rooms, a sound and video room and second floor restrooms as well as a café and credit union on the bridge linking the Central Library and Civic Center.
