Visual Arts

From cultural to contemporary to pop, The OC has a thriving art and museum scene. Visitors and locals enjoy art festivals, art workshops, art walks, craft shows, art galleries, and other visual arts events 365 sunny days a year.

Art Festivals
Laguna Beach is known for its annual summer art festivals: Festival of Arts, Sawdust Art Festival and Art-A-Fair. These festivals showcase compelling works of art by local and international artists, attracting visitors from around the world. Don't miss the Pageant of the Masters, a world-famous stage presentation featuring tableaux vivants or "living pictures." Watch as classical and contemporary works of art are re-created with real people posing to look exactly like their counterparts in the original pieces.  Each October, Laguna Beach turns into an outdoor studio with the week-long Laguna Beach Plein Air Painting Invitational.

Museums and Galleries
From Santa Ana to San Clemente, The OC offers an enormous amount of museum experiences ranging from family-friendly and interactive to exclusive exhibitions from all over the globe.  Can't-miss museums include the Orange County Museum of Art in Newport Beach, the Discovery Science Center, MUZEO in Anaheim, and the International Surfing Museum in Huntington Beach.

About the Laguna Beach Arts Community
Laguna Beach began with modest roots as a small art enclave and has evolved into a world-renowned destination for art masterworks, festivals and arts and crafts shops. Over 100 art galleries and artists' studios showcase all types of mediums, from painting and sculptures to glass blowing and modern art. From the galleries in North Gallery Row and the showcases of the downtown village to South Laguna, you'll find it's easy to spend the day gallery-hopping as you explore all the incredible talents of world-renowned artists.
