Ring in the holiday season with the best block party ever. The first Fridaynight of each December, the City of Laguna Beach and the Chamber of Commerce jointlysponsor this much-anticipated event that takes place in the downtown area. There is caroling,mingling with friends & neighbors, shops staying open late, live entertainment, a skating rink, the arrival of Santa and his “reindeer” and the lighting of the 136-year- old Pepper Tree at City Hall.

Festival of Arts
KX 93.5’s annual concert/fundraiser featuring Eric Burdon & The Animals in Irvine Bowl with themed holiday party tents in the Festival of Arts grounds. Irvine Bowl is Orange County’s most spectacular outdoor amphitheatre, nestled in Laguna Canyon and home to Pageant of the Masters for the last 100 years. KX 93.5 is the only organization allowed to use the Bowl for a concert, making this the only opportunity to see an A-list band in the venue. Raises money for community radio station KX 93.5 and partner non- profits. VIP tickets include a Meet ‘n’ Greet with Eric Burdon and the Animals. Festival of Arts, 650 Laguna Canyon Road.

No Square Theatre
Annie at No Square Theatre in the historic Legion Hall includes such unforgettable songs as “It’s the Hard Knock Life,” “Easy Street,” “I Don’t Need Anything But You,” and “Tomorrow.” Little Orphan Annie charms with her plucky optimism, despite humble beginnings in 1930s New York City.

Aladdin and His Winter Wish

American Panto (pantomime) returns for the third year to Laguna Playhouse in “Aladdin and His Winter Wish.” The classic fairytale is set to modern music, complete with dancing, humor, magic and audience participation. Sister’s Christmas Catechism: The Mystery of the Magi’s Gold

It’s “CSI: Bethlehem,” in this holiday mystery extravaganza, as Sister takes on the mystery that has intrigued historians throughout the ages – whatever happened to the Magi’s gold. Employing her own scientific tools, assisted by a local choir as well as a gaggle of audience members, Sister creates a living nativity unlike you’ve never seen. Restaurant Openings

  • ROUX Creole Cuisine is now open, bringing a touch of New Orleans to Laguna Beach. The owners brought in Chef Norm Theard, whose creole recipes were inspired by his mother, a New Orleans native.
  • Oak Laguna Beach on South Coast Highway is now open, bringing a rustic yet modern menu and environment, rich with coastal flavors to locals. Enjoy small plates to share, fresh salads, and Main Events such as Seared King Salmon and a 16 oz. bone-in Ribeye.
  • Opening soon! Slice, a fast-casual restaurant, has plans to open on downtown Forest Avenue in late September 2017. It will offer personalized pizzas, salads and a slice of the day special. Beer and wine will also be available.
