Our Golden State is a multi-faceted expanse of land that boasts seven unique ecological regions, each with distinctive flora, fauna and climate. These regions are: North Coast, Central Coast, South Coast, Shasta-Cascades, Sierra Nevada, Central Valley and Desert. This exhibition explores the various landscapes that characterize California.

Meditative Yoga & Meadow Walk

Bommer Canyon
Relaxing combination of hiking and yoga. Participants hike around a 1-mile loop, strolling through the local meadow and finding unity within nature. Then return to their yoga mats where they are led in 45 to 60 minutes of guided yoga, under the canopy of sycamores. The yoga practice is gentle in nature, moving and flowing with ease.

This exhibition focuses on works that seek to understand, highlight and critique our connection to land - from environmental issues to cultivation, development and mapping - and traces the change in that relationship from the past to the present and into the future.

Harmony of Light: Spring in California (exhibit)

The exhibition comprises a selection of paintings by California Impressionists that show Spring in California from nearly a century ago. Although the year-round mild climate was a key factor in the growth of the Golden State, it was in the Spring that nature put on her most glorious display.

Gray Whale Migration

The gray whale makes the most spectacular and longest mass migration of any marinemammal. Tens of thousands of gray whales migrate annually along the Laguna Beachcoastline from the summer feeding grounds in the Bering Sea to the winter grounds inBaja California lagoons. Other varieties you might spot aboard the two and one-halfhour ocean excursion include finback, humpback and mink whales, along with severalspecies of dolphin.
